What is a bag stabilizer used for?
As the name suggests – to give your bag structure.

Using a stabilizer helps your finished bag keep its shape, prevents it from collapsing, and gives it a firm, professional look. We recommend using stabilizers when sewing bags from fabric or thin leather.

We offer three types of stabilizers tailored for bag makers:

• Poly bag stabilizer – one of our bestsellers! This self-adhesive stabilizer is super easy to apply. It provides excellent structure to fabric or thinner leather bags. Available in black and white, sold by the meter (roll width: 150 cm).

• Self-adhesive foam – available in 1 mm and 2 mm thickness. Easy to apply, flexible, won’t crack or break when turning the bag inside out. Adds a soft, padded feel to the final product.

• Salpa – a material made from leather fibers, perfect for stabilizing genuine or faux leather bags. It offers a stiff, solid hold – ideal for use in the base of the bag. The 1 mm version is especially popular. Note: Salpa is not self-adhesive, it must be glued over the entire surface.
