What is the main advantage of the Chicago screw?
The Chicago screw, also known as a belt screw or Kydex screw, allows for the easy assembly of belts or bag straps without the need for riveting.
The Chicago screw consists of two parts: a screw portion and a nut. Its greatest advantage lies in the ability to fasten components together without the use of any special tools. One significant benefit of the Chicago screw is its reversible fastening, allowing for detachable connections. For instance, a leather bag handle attached with a Chicago screw can be removed before washing a washable bag.
